Betty Silva grew up in Hillside, NJ and trained with Margit Tarrasoff Studio
and Newark American Ballet Academy under Fred Daniels, Marie Jeanne and Annabel Lyons. She also studied at the
Carnegie Hall Ballet School and George Foster Tap. Betty danced with the Radio City Music Hall
Rockettes in 1955. She left there to dance with the June Taylor Dancers on the Jackie Gleason Show.
Betty has danced in Canada, Dominican Republic, Reno, Saratoga, Barcelona, Madrid and Milan.
Her touring days came to an end when Betty danced at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in KY.
It was there she met and married Wayne Dammert. Betty and Wayne have four children and eight grandchildren.
Betty operated three dance studios over 28 years and now that she's retired, she's travelling again as much as possible.
